| The Smack pub lies in Middle Wall, and is named after a type of fishing boat. Whitstable has a rich maritime heritage, and one of the 'Oyster Yawls' - specifically used to fish oysters, a delicacy Whitstable has long been famous for, stands as a permanent exhibit on the road parallel to this one in the direstion of the sea. The Oyster yawl is know as 'The Favourite'. |
