A Bright Exhibition Space

The Walker-Platt Gallery, created in 2007, is a bright new first floor exhibition space in the heart of Whitstable. The open plan gallery space is designed to display many different types of work, and is beautifully lit, both naturally, and by tracked lighting. Located in whitstable's Oxford Street (which leads directly into the High Street), the Walker-Platt is available for hire by artists, curators, dealers, and other galleries.

The Gallery's Specs

With natural flooring and full glass front, the gallery is a beautifully light and airy space which is neutral, yet ambient. This combination offers all artists who choose to display at The Walker-Platt a space which compliments their exhibition, and puts the artist's expression first. The gallery is suitable for work of all sizes, and was constructed with ease of installation in mind.

Exhibitions are held seven days a week in the main gallery, use this link to
see who's currently displaying at The Walker Platt. Various artists' work is also displayed in the Film Cafe, located directly beneath the gallery.

Location

The Walker-Platt Gallery is located in Oxford Street, Whitstable, Kent, which is the road that leads into Whitstable's High Street. It is located sirectly above the Archive Film Cafe, and the entrance is through the cafe itself.

More about the Gallery

The Walker-Platt gallery is named after Sid Walker and Elizabeth Platt, who were married in September 1950. The gallery, founded by Bonnie (Granddaughter to the above) some 57 years later, is dedicated to them, their descendants and ancestors
