Recently, my family got in touch to ask if i would like to feature a flat they own in Malta, which is available for rent throughout the year . It's a great idea, so after a little background info, I'll let them describe it for you .........

Location: Qawra

Qawra is a coastal town on the Island of Malta, South of Sicily.

It's a small town, neighbouring "Bugibba"- another coastal town very popular with English tourists, however Qawra retains an unspoiled simple beauty, and for this reason, is one of my favourite places on the island.

It's a simple place - there are restaurants selling local seafood, shops for holiday supplies, lots of sun, the occassional square for enjoying the sea air and company, and beautiful sandstone, and sandy beaches with some of the clearest blue/green water i can remember. Whenever i imagine water i'd like to swim in, this is the place i picture. It's not the most frantic part of the island - the major clubs are on a different part of the coast, easily accessible by bus or car in under twenty minutes if that's what you're after, but if not, Qawra provides some lovely stretches of coast, and is a great base from which to explore the rest of the island.

The Flats

The flats are located in a block which sits on a small square with buildings on two sides and open green areas on the other two sides. It is only 2 to 3 minutes walk from the beach, the shops, the local church and the Qawra bus terminus from which you can catch the local bus to most parts of the island. It is also very close to many of the best restaurants in the area.

  (Great place to relax and entertain on a warm evening)

All bed linen and 1 towel per person is provided.
Linen will be changed once per week.

£15 per day in low season
£25 per day in High season

More about the flats ...

"Our family lived in this apartment for six years after moving to Malta from the U.K.  There were many things about it that suited our British temperament – such as the privacy it gave us, the fresh cool air that blew through the apartment even in the hottest part of summer. This was because of the central courtyard that brought cooled air into the apartment through the central lounge.

It was also nice being able to eat outside under the shade in the patio yard.

In winter, it was shielded from the heaviest  winds and withstood the lashing rain from the occasional storm. All of this made it a secure and comfortable place to live.

When had to move to St. Julians because of our business, we held on to the apartment since we just could not bring ourselves to let it go altogether. Large yards with both sun and shade, are hard to come by in Qawra now – especially in the very central location of Triq. J Quintinus.

We have recently totally refurbished both flats and they are now available for rent on a daily basis.  We, as owners still reside and work in Malta and will be pleased to send a taxi to meet you on arrival at the airport and take you directly to your apartment.

The taxi will cost £12 and can be paid directly to the driver or together with your apartment rental fee.
 
We can also offer maid service for an extra charge on a daily or weekly basis."
